“This is fucking fun.”
Frightened Rabbit; May 17 - Berbati’s Pan in Portland, Oregon.
I think that Scott pretty much sums it up there. This show was amazing. Really, really amazing. Worth failing my midterm for sure. Being right next to the stage didn’t hurt either…
Openers:Our Brother the Native: There bass was way too loud for my liking, but they used a child’s xylophone, so they get credit for that one.Maps and Atlases: I was really impressed. They also had some pretty epic beards and the bassist was doing this little dance the entire time that was adorable.
THEN THERE WAS FRIGHTENED RABBIT.
Setlist: Skip the Youth The Modern Leper Old Old Fashioned The Loneliness and the Scream The Wrestle The Twist Swim Until You Can’t See Land FootShooter Backwards Walk Nothing Like You Heads Roll Off Good Arms vs. Bad ArmsEncore: Poke (Solo) Living in Colour Keep Yourself Warm
So they were all amazing, but a couple were super super amazing. Old Old Fashioned was awesome because Scott is so high energy, he was just bouncing all over the place. The Loneliness and the Scream was awesome, like Maura (@fujiidom) said, because everyone in the place was clapping and doing the chant at the end. Backwards Walk and The Wrestle were also phenomenal. Scott came out and did Poke on the acoustic and it was incredible, so good live. And, of course, Keep Yourself Warm is one of my favorites and it was even better live. So I’m pretty much just repeating that they are awesome, because they are. But they played all my favorites, which was awesome. It is a requirement for you to go next time they are in your town! More than worth it. And they’re a bunch of cute Scots with beards in flannel.
Also, we got there like thirty minutes before the doors opened and were definitely walking behind Grant while he was having a smoke before he went in and the rest of the boys minus Scott were down at the corner. We didn’t really bug them because it was such a small venue, but you could say it was passive stalking.
And, yes, I’m not putting this under a cut. Boom. (It was really, really amazing though.)

UMMMM agree with everything BUT i didn’t bug them only because I didn’t want to embarrass a certain someone i was with would have been just a “tad” embarrassed… BOOM.
